The fans even urged Ubisoft to reverse their decision and sign Michael as the voice artist. When that failed, online petition to support Michael Ironside as the voice of Sam Fisher.

People who played this game knew that Michael was the correct man for the job with his intimidating voice and the way he slips into the character. No sooner, the petition rose up and people were signing it. Even though the petition gathered quite a bit of attention, Ubiosoft didn't  brig Michael back as the voice artist of Sam Fisher.

As the game released, even the gamers who actually did not care for the voice artist started noticing the difference in what was essentially the same character.
