Bill Turnbull says he quit BBC to spend more time with his bees and his wife.

Popular breakfast journalist, Bill Turnbull who has been known as the host  to the BBC Breakfast show for over fifteen years has said his sudden and surprising retirement decision is mainly so he can spend more time with his wife and for some reason, Bees.

Bill, who is very passionate for his favorite hobby beekeeping has engulfed himself in a whole new level to his hobby after his recent retirement. Over the years, Bill had an ever growing concern that his bees were being neglected and he must do something for them.

He has said how he could not move his bees from their place in his private farm to where he was located due to the environment being too windy. Bill also confessed as to how he could see his early retirement coming a long time before.

However he has said that he did not plan this but somehow it had always been at the back of his mind. Bill also said how after fifteen years now that the time for him to leave has come but he has no regrets whatsoever. He has mentioned he was a bit sad though about his departure.

Bill has also shared a picture of him attending his bees. He has them organized in a very compartmentalized manner and sees to them personally. His fondness for bees he has said was induced in him long before.

A couple of years earlier Bill also authored a comedy book titled “The Bad Beekeepers Club” the book was a comical insight into the ups and downs in the life of a beekeeper.

He has also said over the years due to his busy schedule he has not been able to spend the right amount of time he wants with his wife and family so all of that would drastically change after retirement.

He has also said that most of his important decisions are made only after his wife therefore his wife was very happy and content with the decision Bill made to take in an early retirement. Bill married his wife a long time ago and has three children with her.

Two sons Henry and Will and their youngest happen to be Flora their daughter. Bill also expressed great delight that now he will be able to spend more time with his children and help them in the critical stages of their life especially when it comes to career choosing.

Bill prior to retirement worked for BBC for fifteen years. However Bill’s retirement is only for the show breakfast. He however has said he would be working time to time on daytime shows like “Think Tank”.

Bill’s salary and net worth remain to be undisclosed by the corporation due to contractual factors and agreements.
