American dancer, Debbie Allen is considered to the perfect woman by many of her fans. With her intelligent quotes and attractive personality, on the outside it appears if Allen has everything a man could ever ask for. However, if her previous relationships are to be of any indication, it can be observed Allen has a tough time being committed to a single man for a long time. And now, rumors are circulating; she wants to get divorce from her current husband Norm Nixon.

There are reports suggesting the relation between Debbie Allen and her husband, who is a former basketball player is going through a rough patch. The loving and caring relationship that once existed between the two is falling apart, and they are reportedly considering a divorce as a viable option.

The possible cause for this coldness in their relationship has not yet been revealed.  It is speculated that something big must have come along, to break the couple’s 32 years old relationship. There are no definite proof, but it is possible that the extra marital affairs, which Norm Nixon was rumored to be having also had a part to play in it.

Allen was previously married to Win Wilford. But only after 8 years of married life, the two discovered irreconcilable differences and decided to part ways. The two didn’t have any children together.  The two still maintain a good friendship.

Allen’s father is a Pulitzer Prize nominated artist, poet, publisher and source of her inspiration. She made her Broadway debut in the chorus of ‘Purlie’. Her first TV role was in 1980 movie ‘Fame’. She also played one of the lead characters in TV adaptation of the movie. She has also performed in movies like ‘The Old Settler’, ‘The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh’ and ‘Next Day Year’. She has also appeared in TV shows like ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘The Love Boat’ and ‘The Cosby Show’.

The American actress has won several awards and accolades throughout her career. For her contribution in entertainment industry, she is honored with a star in Hollywood Walk of Fame. She has also won Emmy Awards three for Choreography for the series ‘Fame’ and “The Motown 25th Anniversary Special.’  She has received 10 Images Awards for her role as director, actress and Choreographer. She was also a guest judge in 3 seasons of Reality show ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’
