In an interview with ArtsHub, artist Yayoi Kusama, when asked a question either she has a husband or family? Kusama said, “I have never been married. If I were married, I don’t think I would be able to do my art. I spend every hour of the day totally immersed in creating art pieces.” So, it’s clear that Kusama is not married yet. Kusama now is at her older age of 87.

If Kusama had thought of marriage then, probably Kusama would have thought of such husband who does have patience because Kusama would not have time to give to her husband so, he could patiently wait for Kusama’s time for him. Obviously, the husband must have the respect and love towards her arts. Also Kusama might have expected for a best husband who could understand her and love her anyway.

Kusama at her earlier age was heard to be dating guys. She describes Donald Judd as her earlier boyfriend. But she shared a close relationship with the artist Joseph Cornell. She first met Cornell in her thirties, they shared a greatest bond yet platonic. Kusama used to spend whole day in Cornell’s home and they used to draw each other’s painting. Kusama was frustrated by the beahaviour of Cornell, calling her every day for tea and this behave of Cornell ended the love relation of them.

What to say it? Either a good fortune or bad fortune of Kusama that she is not married yet. It might be a good fortune because her married life could not disturb her in her career of arts and made her this successful because she always wanted to create her artwork in a peaceful atmosphere.

In this old age, it is obvious that Kusama is not thinking of getting married as she wanted to spend rest of her life devoting towards the artwork. And she does not have even a little feeling of regret for not getting married.

Being an unmarried woman, Kusama does not have any children and husband. And the thing like divorce is not in her life because how an unmarried woman could get divorce.

Kusama is a magnificent artist who is known for her painting, drawing, sculpture, installation art, performance art, film, fiction and as a fashion writer.

Kusama has been quoted as saying the quote “If it were not for art, I would have killed myself a long time ago” for which Kusama says that she does art in order to further pursue her philosophy of life seeking the truth. She does have quoted many other quotes.

As of 2012, Kusama’s art has the highest turnover of any living women artist. Kusama’s paintings and her arts have been sold in millions of dollars.

The net worth of multitalented artist Kusama is estimated at billions of dollars as her arts are sold at highest price in every exhibition.
