“Though my beautiful wife sleeps in a bed of clover behind our farmhouse, we still celebrate her on this special day and lift her up and give her flowers. This is not my day. It is hers. Joey loved being a mother more than anything else in the world. And she is still Indy’s mama. And Heidi’s and Hopie's. … Thank you for the beautiful gift my love.”
Rory Feek who turned again a single father wrote this remembering his wife on Mother’s Day.
Mother of 2-years old Indiana, Joey Martin Feek died just some days ago on March 4th because of cancer spread in her whole body.
Rory Feek in his way of being a single father married Joey and completed his family. The couple was wishing to get blessed with a baby of their own and their dream came true on February 17, 2014, after Indiana-born. Rory wrote that he was feeling like he was “given a second chance at being a father.”
Rory already had two daughters from his previous marriage Heidi and Hope and he was busy being a songwriter rather than being a better father while raising them. However, he was managing to be a young single father along with struggling in his life to get established in the singing career.
Now he feels regret that he could not give enough love to his girls being a selfish person. He wants to go back in those days and love those girls more than he did. But he is thankful that the girls forgave him and they love him unconditionally and so does he.
We think god has given him the chance to repay his mistake through Indiana. He is again a single father and now surely he would raise up his little daughter with more love and better care than he did to Heidi and Hopie.
