Brazilian tennis pro Thomaz Bellucci is a breath taking performer and indeed is on his way to be the ‘king’ of the court. Using the heavy topspin of his big forehand, he is ever ready to crush his opponent and grab victory. The weights of his shots must really be heavy as we can see many champions struggling to keep his pace in the game.
Currently currently ranked No 42 in the world, the left hander Bellucci was once as high as No 21 in the rankings in 2010, the same year in which he lost to eventual champion Rafael Nadal in the fourth round of the French Open.
Belluci, who turned pro in 2005, has never been past the fourth round at a Grand Slam tournament and has never been past the second round at Flushing Meadows.
The 6 feet 2 inches tall Bellucci has has three career singles titles, all of which came on clay: In 2009 and 2012 at the Suiss Open and in 2010 at the Royal Guard Open in Chile.
The 27 year old was also a finalist at the Brasil Open in 2009 and the Kremlin Cup in 2012. The Kremlin Cup appearance is his lone finals appearance at a hardcourt tournament.
His best performance at a Grand Slam was a fourth-round appearance at the French Open in 2010. He also advanced to the third round at Wimbledon in 2010 and at the French Open in 2011.
Lindsay Gibbs, co-founder of popular tennis blog The Changeover quotes Thomaz as ‘crazy talented’. She also says that he is very unpredictable as although he has wins over four of the top ten tennis players of the world he seems to lose with players ranked multiples to him as she shares the scoop on the befuddling Brazilian.
The relationships of sport stars with stunning models is not unheard of and when it comes to tennis, we can see that almost all the tennis players date models and actresses. However, Thomaz seems to be an anomaly as he is doesn’t seem to pay any attention to the striking models around him and be happy to date his girlfriend, Liz at home in Brazil.
Thomaz is a very private person and has stayed mum on his love-life for years. There had been many rumors but they were never confirmed. However, now it seems that this couple has been dating for a long time. Although his girlfriend Liz doesn’t travel with him, she has been spotted many times at home-town tournaments. How the very unpredictable tennis star steadies his relationship or are there any turn of events lined up is yet to see.
Despite being tennis ace he seems to be quite indoor person as Sheila Vieira, a Brazilian journalist, says he is “one of the shyest people I've ever seen.” He won’t even make eye contact during interviews!
