Melinda Jones left us all in major devastation with the news of her death in early April this year. And the person who suffered the most from this was Tom Jones, her loving husband. Following her death, rumors of Tom Jones quitting his musical career also spread around when Jones, in an interview with Mirror UK, remarked the following to his son about his musical career.
"If your mother doesn't make it I don't know whether I can sing. A lot of the songs that I do, I think of her, so it would be hard if she wasn't there to be able to sing."

For the first time in a month after his wife’s death, he was seen at the Santa Monica beach on Saturday. The 75-year-old Welsh hitmaker wasn’t alone, his son Marc Woodward accompanied him for the outing. He had a solemn look on his face as he walked around sporting a smart suit jacket. The father and son duo spent their solitary time gazing out at the exquisite views.

The pensiveness in Tom’s face can be easily justified as Melinda’s death has been a very tragic experience for him. Tom Jones, who married Melinda when they were both teenagers, often described her as the 'love of my life'.
Melinda Jones lost her life due to a “short but fierce” cancer illness at a hospital in Los Angeles.
In an interview with the Sunday Times Magazine, Sir Tom maintained their marriage was “rock-solid”.

“She is the most important thing in my life,” he said. “An unbelievable woman. Linda is the love of my life and she still is, even though she doesn’t look like she did. I don’t look like I did either, but I try my best.”
